Celebrating Diversity

Along with the rest of the school, Year 6 will be celebrating diversity tomorrow afternoon. Parents, carers and other family members are welcome in school from 1:15 to 2:30pm. This will be an opportunity to work with your child as we explore and celebrate all the different families in our school community!

Year 6 will be creating family portraits using the Pop Art style pioneered by Andy Warhol in the 1960s. We will combine technology and art to create some brilliant images.

Here’s an example of the pop art style, a portrait of the legendary former Beatle, John Lennon.

Music in Y6 🎶🎶

This term Y6 will be getting into the groove by exploring rhythm and melody in singing, movement and dance. The children will learn about beat, syncopation, pitch and harmony, and take a trip around the world to celebrate the universal language of music.

Keep checking our blog for the latest pictures and performances from our vey musical and talented pupils.

Gymnastics – Balancing across apparatus

This term we are focussing on creating a routine using apparatus in gymnastics – starting with different types of balancing when travelling across a bench.

How much time do you spend online?

After a summer holiday when many of you will have spent time using computers, now is a good time to think about how much time you spend online.

Here are some of the things year 6 have done on computers over the summer.

You can assess if you are spending too much time online by answering the questions in this video.

Now tell me what you will do this year to manage the amount of time you spend online by completing this padlet:
